London life

You want your child to broaden their horizons and find a home away from home. At Ravensbourne, they will collaborate with likeminded creatives from over 90 different countries in our award-winning creative hub. Within its walls lives a community teeming with energy and creativity.

It’s impossible for your child not to be inspired by the passionate minds, bright lights and rich culture that surround them, allowing them to reach their full potential as learners, workers and global citizens. Your child will have the freedom to be themselves, find their unique voice and fulfil their creative destiny.

Exceptional transport links will not only give them easy access to a tremendous city, it will also make it easier for you to reach them. Hop on the Jubilee Line from North Greenwich to Oxford Street and they’ll be in central London in just 20 minutes, where they can sample the city's rich heritage.

There’s a bustling social and entertainment scene too. Westfield Shopping Centre, the largest shopping centre in Europe, is just 10 minutes away, while there is a plethora of art galleries, theatres, live music events, exhibitions and museums. The only drawback is: when you visit them, you won't want to leave!

Our locale

Our locale

Within Ravensbourne's immediate vicinity, you will find a wealth of food places, modern technology and illustrious shops and brands. The world-famous O2 Arena is literally next door. It’s not just a music venue either; Ravensbourne students get 20% off a diverse range of eateries inside the building.

Many students live along the riverside in North Greenwich and we work with several accommodation partners to help our students find a great place to live.

Award-winning building

On the Greenwich Peninsula and swathed in a mosaic of 28,000 gleaming tiles, our home makes a real statement – just like our students.

Swathed in a mosaic of 28,000 gleaming tiles, our building plays a standout role on the Greenwich Peninsula.

Designed by Farshid Moussavi in 2010, the Ravensbourne building has been hailed as a masterclass in functional design and public art, claiming the RIBA award for best Higher Education building in 2011.

Adjacent to Ravensbourne, The Institute for Creativity and Technology, set to open its doors in 2021, takes pride of place in the Design District, London's new work space for the Creative Industries.

Atelier

Atelier at Ravensbourne

Our spacious and well-equipped fashion atelier means that our fashion students learn traditional, technical and creative skills such as draping, pattern cutting and machine sewing. But not only that. They can also push creative limits by designing and printing their own materials using our industry-standard fabric printers.

Prototyping suite

Prototyping suite

Our rapid prototyping suite helps students to turn ideas into realistic proofs of concept with the use of state-of-the-art 2d and 3d printing and fabrication.

Students can run off a working 3d prototype in less than a day, laser cut a range of 2d and 3d printed materials or use the latest dye-sublimation fabric printers to add incredible patterns to fabric.

We also have one of the world’s first and best multi-material Polyjet printers to produce detailed and precise prototypes that have a final-product look and feel.

Training is provided on specialist equipment and our helpful and friendly staff are on hand to support you in turning your ideas into working prototypes.
