Publication date:

A music video created by Ravensbourne BA (Hons) Digital Film Production students has been shortlisted at the national stage of the RTS Student Television Awards. The awards will be presented at a virtual ceremony on Friday 26 June 2020.

The RTS Student Television Awards celebrate the very best of undergraduate and postgraduate audiovisual work. The student awards are part of the Royal Television Society charity and aim to promote the art and science of television. After a thorough regional award process, the most exceptional winners are invited to the national RTS Student Awards in the summer.

Our Digital Film Production students created a music video for recording artist, BiG Heath, as part of their final major project. The students included Henry Oliver as Director, Jordi Estapé Montserrat as Producer and Liam Morgan as Director of Photography. The music video for the song, ‘BiGGY’ has since amassed over 3 million views on Youtube and impressed the RTS judges. The video has propelled the students to the national round of the RTS Student Television Awards.

Course tutor, Tiana Harper said: “The standard of work at the RTS national competition is incredibly high so this is a great achievement for one of our graduation projects. As the awards ceremony will take place online for the first time, nominees have been asked to record an acceptance video in advance. We’re really excited that our students have been recognised at such prestigious awards this early in their careers.”

We wish Henry, Jordi and Liam the very best of luck and look forward to hearing about their future projects.

The Awards Ceremony will be presented on Friday 26 June 2020 and will be livestreamed via the RTS website from 2:00pm. You can find out more about the RTS Student Television Awards  here.
