Celebrating PG students' creative innovations as part of London Design Festival
Last night, Ravensbourne’s postgraduate students unveiled the creative innovations they have been working on across the year to London’s thriving design community at the private view of Unfold: Ravensbourne’s Postgraduate Degree Show.
Held at 133 Bethnal Green Road in Shoreditch, the sold out event saw over 150 attendees explore a range of film, design, fashion and creative installations. These included a sports-luxe collection for night athletes, a revolutionary campaign to support the reunification of Korea and a one-take short film exploring anxiety.
The multidisciplinary show provides the first occasion the final major projects of Ravensbourne’s MA Communication Design, MA Fashion, MA Moving Image and MSc Applied Technologies students are revealed to the public.
This year, Ravensbourne’s postgraduate show was included as part of the London Design Festival once again — an annual event comprised of a host of events held right across the city, promoting London as the design capital of the world.
Commenting, Professor Lawrence Zeegen, Executive Dean of the Design School said, “Over the one year course, our Master’s students have been pushing the limits of their disciplines, exploring new working methodologies and technologies to create solutions for the problems of tomorrow. Being able to share their work as part of an event which celebrates London’s rich and diverse design history is a fantastic opportunity, and it’s thoroughly rewarding to see them present such compelling and innovative projects.”
Un Ko, MA Communication Design student added, "It was wonderful experience to show my work to the public, especially as my project is about political issues that aim to increase peoples' awareness. I had the chance to talk to the public about how they feel about my project and get a reaction from them."
The exhibition runs until Saturday 21 September at 3.00pm. Find out more about the show and register your attendance over at Unfold.
