Millions of people around the world have been moved by an animation created by our second-year BA (Hons) Illustration for Communication student Niamh Bradbury, after it became a runaway hit on Instagram.

As of the time of writing, well over four million people have viewed and interacted with the animation, which Niamh posted to her Instagram in February.

The 10-second clip, set to the song ‘I don’t care how long it takes’ by d4vd, is thought-provoking, melancholic… and a little bit mysterious.

Many people felt that the animation spoke to them on an emotional level. People from across the world took to the comments to express how it made them feel, remember people they loved, and discuss the meaning behind the animation.

Niamh quote

“A lot of people messaged me expressing that they felt understood through my video and that was so emotional,” Niamh said.

“People were connecting to something that I was feeling, and I was finding a way to express it through my animation. It's been a really lovely experience.”

Huge congratulations to Niamh for her success!
