Ravensbourne Fashion alumni reunite for special interview

Award-winning make-up artist, fashion designer and model Ophelia Liu will be interviewed by fellow Fashion graduate and CEO, Jasmine MacPhee. Jasmine and Ophelia both studied at Ravensbourne University London and have gone on to find incredible success in their chosen fields. ‘The Lates: Grad glow-up with Jasmine x Ophelia Liu’ is a special event taking place on Tuesday 16 March 2021 from 6.00pm - 7.00pm via Zoom.  

We’re incredibly excited to announce a very special ‘The Lates’ event, featuring two of our Fashion alumni. In a first for ‘The Lates’, a former student will interview a fellow graduate, answering questions that have been asked by our community. When registering for the event, attendees will be able to submit questions in advance for Ophelia.

Host Jasmine MacPhee studied BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion at Ravensbourne and created an internship company as her final major project. After graduating, Jasmine invested in her business and is now the proud CEO of Find Your Intern (FYI). The FYI platform exclusively advertises paid-only Fashion internships and has evolved into a flourishing membership community. Members rave that they have had fantastic career opportunities, thanks to the platform Jasmine created as a Ravensbourne student. Jasmine’s strong work ethic has seen her intern for Cosmo and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as offer her freelance graphic design skills to the likes of Marie Claire Runway, UGG and M&S. 

Ophelia Liu graduated from Ravensbourne in 2017 with a degree in Fashion Apparel Design and previously worked on London Fashion Week for two consecutive years. Whilst studying, she also won the VC Corporation's ‘Future of Denim’ competition in collaboration with Ravensbourne. In 2020, Ophelia was crowned the winner of BBC Three’s popular show ‘Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star’. She won a prestigious contract to assist leading figures in the make-up industry and the show is currently streaming on Netflix. Ophelia showcases her art with over half a million Instagram followers, who eagerly anticipate her next make-up masterpiece. Ophelia will be answering questions on the future of the make-up world, her signature creative style and what aspiring creatives can look forward to beyond graduation. 

Ophelia commented, "I had an amazing time studying Fashion Apparel Design at Ravensbourne University London. I was taught by innovative professionals who gave me direct industry experience. Not only did I have the opportunity to work on London Fashion Week two years in a row, but I was delighted to win the VC corporation's 'Future of Denim' competition. It's thanks to my time at Ravensbourne that I have had the confidence and creativity to pursue a career as a fashion designer and make-up artist."
