Ravensbourne's Acting Vice Chancellor to deliver keynote speech at the Education Strategy Forum
Andy Cook, Ravensbourne’s Acting Vice Chancellor has been invited to give a keynote address at the Education Strategy Forum — the UK’s leading further and higher education event — on Tuesday 25 February.
The event sees over 300 vice chancellors, directors and heads of department from across UK higher education come together to discuss the headline “trends and issues being tackled by university leaders,” sharing best practice initiatives in building a sustainable and effective education system.
In his address, Andy will explain how the design and media university is tackling the skills gap in cloud computing and the digital tech sector, which accounted for £184 billion turnover in the UK economy in 2018 according to the Department of International Trade.
Ravensbourne recently announced the launch of four new digital technology courses which map directly to high-demand jobs in cloud computing. The new degree programme includes pioneering cloud computing and cyber security courses created in collaboration with the AWS Educate, who recently spoke on the importance of addressing the lack of cloud related skills and how Ravensbourne’s courses respond to this.
He will discuss how cloud technology is transforming operations in higher education, improving the student experience and opening up new research opportunities.
