Sofi Chetrar

Sofi works styling London’s rich and famous in her role as personal stylist at Harvey Nichols. It was clear she was destined for great things when she became a finalist for the Styling and Creative Direction Award, sponsored by streetwear retailer Size?, while she was still a student at Ravensbourne.

When Sofi visited Ravensbourne for the first time, she was impressed by the aesthetic of the building and its open-plan design. It was then that she could imagine herself working and creating within its four walls.

When it came to finding the right course, Sofi felt that it was important to have the freedom to express her own creativity. The excellent facilities on offer, as well as the chance to work with students from other disciplines, meant that Ravensbourne was a perfect fit.

Whilst on the course, Sofi learnt how to prepare a creative CV, portfolio and website, which were invaluable for securing work after graduation. She was also lucky enough to exhibit her work at Graduate Fashion Week. This opportunity gained her exposure in front of influential people within the fashion industry.

Sofi’s advice to new students is to not be scared to take risks and make mistakes, and most importantly to believe in yourself and what you do.
