Richard Hughes MA
Biography
Richard is an award-winning filmmaker and wildlife cameraman. He continues to work in industry with recent credits including: BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, Channel 5, Smithsonian, and Animal Planet. He specialises in natural history and is also a commercial drone operator.
Richard started his career as an editor and worked for over 10 years delivering both TV documentary and feature Films to our screens.
During his time making films for wildlife charities he moved into filming and directing and started specialising in natural history documentary.
​Having editing knowledge helps during filming as he is able to visualise the sequence while on location. Richard combines that with being resourceful and quick-thinking when it comes to solving problems.
Richard enjoys challenging environments, and has experience leading a team on location. One of his key skills is his ability to maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards colleagues.

Richards work has been published in BBC WildLife Magazine and African Geographic Magazine. In 2016 his work was highly commended at the British Wildlife Photography Awards.
