Gianpaolo Bucci
Biography
Gianpaolo Bucci, Filmmaker and Senior Lecturer in Film and Television, is an Italian creative who has been engaged in social impact projects worldwide.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) who has taught at the University of the Arts London, University of Sussex, University of Naples Federico II and Ravensbourne University London.
After having earned his postgraduate degree in theatre, film and television in Rome, Gianpaolo went on to work for RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana on a wide variety of programmes (talk shows, sitcoms, news, game shows, magazines, reality, cooking shows and a musical) for a decade. Eventually, Gianpaolo focused on sensitive topics of international relevance by producing documentaries and NGO promos across three continents.
Connecting with academics and NGOs, he fulfilled his aim of devoting himself to projects that can make a difference in our perception of the world and the others. He has investigated issues with the representation of marginalised groups in the media to propose participatory and interactive multimedia documentary forms as tools to overcome those problems.
