Dr Dario Llinares MA, PHD, FHEA, BA

Dr Dario Llinares is an academic and podcaster whose research has focused on a range of cinema and media-related themes.

His PhD thesis explored the cultural representation of the astronaut in literature, journalism, photography and film, and he has published research on the status and practice of cinema-going in the digital age, the aesthetics of postmodernism, representations of masculinity in prison cinema, and podcasting as a media technology.

His is the co-founder and co-host of the highly respected Cinematologists Podcast and was co-editor of Podcasting: New Aural Cultures and Digital Media (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018). He is currently working on a new edited collection entitled Podcast Studies: Practice in Theory/Theory into Practice and a feature length video essay on AI voices in Science-Fiction Cinema.
