Need a Guarantor?

What is a guarantor?

Guarantors are required by most accommodation providers. A guarantor is a person who agrees to pay rent or damages if the tenant does not make payment. For students, this is often parents or guardians, but this can be difficult for international students as most accommodation providers require a guarantor to be UK-based.

Ravensbourne University London has partnered with Housing Hand, the UK's leading guarantor service. We have arranged a preferential price for all UK and International Ravensbourne University students. This is the equivalent to 5.5% of annual rent on a subscription basis or 5% of annual rent when paid as an upfront fee.

To find out more about the service and to apply, visit the dedicated Ravensbourne University link on the Housing Hand website.

Please note:

  • to receive this reduced rate you will need to apply using this dedicated link
  • you will have to provide a co-signer to take responsibility for students meeting the obligations outlined their tenancy agreement.

Care leavers and estranged students

It is often difficult for care leavers and estranged students to find someone who is willing to act as a guarantor when booking accommodation. It is an equal challenge to provide a co-signer when booking with a guarantor provider like Housing Hand and to find the fee for the service.

As part of our pledge to support our care leavers and estranged students, we are working in affiliation with Housing Hand to offer a free, no co-signer required, guarantor service to qualifying students.
