Welcome information

To help prepare you for the course and to form part of our welcome activities please undertake the following task:

Create a 12-second video clip highlighting one important and positive challenging moment in your life. This might seem insignificant to others, but what is important, is that it is your own honest life history. You can choose live-action video, sequenced photography or graphic elements such as typography, or mixed media. 

Please bring this with you to welcome week. 

Course equipment 

You will benefit from having the following drawing equipment to support iterative idea generation. If you have any questions, please speak to your course team during Welcome Week. You will not need to bring this equipment to Welcome Week. 

• A5 or A5 sketchbook  
• Sticky notes 
• Drawing equipment – your own preferred choice of pens and pencils 
• 30cm ruler for storyboard framing 
• Scissors 
• Glue

Laptop requirements 

Please see our laptop requirements document to ensure you have a device that will be suitable for your studies.

Your course welcome week activities will be taking place on the following dates. This is a really important time for you to meet fellow students, your course team and become part of the Ravensbourne community. These sessions will cover key information about your course and everything you need to set you up for your studies.  

Monday 18 September: 9.00am - 4.30pm, room 601A

Thursday 21 September: 9.00am - 4.30pm, room 601A

Students’ Union Welcome Festival

International Welcome Week runs from Tuesday 12 September - Friday 15 September. If you’re an international student, it is important that you attend in this week to complete your enrolment, get all the information you need to best prepare your for studying in the UK and meet fellow international students on your course. 

Tuesday 12 September: 12.00pm - 1.00pm - In-Person Enrolment

Wednesday 13 September: 9.30am - 4.30pm - International Induction

Your teaching starts in the week commencing Monday 25 September. You will have three teaching sessions each week as follows: 

Monday, 9.00am - 1.00pm, room 601A  

Monday, 2.00pm - 6.00pm, room 601A  

Tuesday, 2.00pm - 6.00pm, room 601A   

Occasionally your timetable might get updated due to a room or other change.

If you have any questions ahead of joining us, our online drop-in sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, 1.00pm - 2.00pm UK Time, starting Friday 11 August through to Friday 30 September 2023.
