Concept and creative process
Stings, menus and endboards to package new 1990 Winter season programming on BBC1. Lighting, colour palette and animation embracing bright and blustery winter weather. The concept was created using multiplane and conventional cell animation in a motion control camera set-up. The multiplane effect was created with layers of textured and clear glass. Figurative characters were hand-painted frame by frame on sheets of cell. These were placed over the layers of glass and the whole animation sequence and camera move was shot entirely in-camera.
Director of Photography – Douglas Foster at Cell Animation.
Designers – Jane Wyatt (Wyatt-Brooks) and Sue Worthy.
