Concept and creative process
'Crime Doubles’ was a branded season of BBC One drama covering the crime, police and criminal investigation genre. The branding had a hard-hitting, documentary feel, in the style of the dramas it was promoting. It focused on the idea of a 'Crime Doubles’ obsessed fan. It was a large scale, single camera live action shoot, involving a warehouse location, a helicopter, two camera crews and a cast of extras. This was specially shot and directed by the designers Paula Williams and Tim Platt, using none of the actual programme footage.
