How to use the AR experience
- Make sure you have the latest version of Instagram downloaded on your phone.
- Scan the QR code on the cover to open the filter in Instagram
- Line up the image with the cover to start the animation. (For best results, position your camera straight on with the prospectus and always keep it fully in frame)
- Share!
You can easily share the AR experience, and we’d love you to tag us @RavensbourneUK so we can see it out in the world.
While using the filter, simply press the capture button for a screenshot, or press and hold for a video. Once you've got your capture, it takes you straight into the story posting process.
How we made it
The team at VISUALISE created the animation using software called Cinema 4D and techniques called dynamics, expressions and MoGraph effectors to help create the illusion of movement.
The AR experience was then built in the programme Spark AR using the target tracker to trigger the animation when the camera is pointed at the cover. Spark AR was also used to create the trail effect using technology called particle emitters, used to simulate special effects, like the ones you'll see in our own animation.
